Our work
The Bridge Group is a non-profit consultancy that uses research to promote social equality.
We do this by supporting organisations of all kinds with independent expertise, research and practical know-how to enable them to make real and lasting impact on socio-economic diversity and social equality.
Our objective is to make real and meaningful change, now. And our vision is a higher education system and labour market where outcomes are determined by competence and hard work, and not by socio-economic background.
A recent survey conducted by Uptree, in partnership with the Bridge Group, sheds light on young people’s work experiences and identifies barriers to attendance..
Slaughter and May has published its social mobility report, which sets targets for socio-economic diversity in its workforce, and explains the motivations behind the targets.
A practical guide to help organisations calculate their socio-economic pay gap, set meaningful targets for socio-economic diversity and drive change.
Clients + supporters
We work with organisations of all sizes and at all stages who want to address social inequality. Our clients include employers, charities, universities and outreach providers. We can help you by analysing your situation and assessing what action you should take. If you already have programmes in place, we can assess whether they are helping you to meet your aims, and suggest improvements. We also undertake our own research into broader issues of social equality, with the support of grants from foundations and employers.

The Bridge Group and the Social Mobility Foundation jointly held an event to provide advice and to launch a pracical guide to organisations that are interested in reporting their class pay gap.
The event focuses on outreach targeting sixth-form students from less advantaged and/or low socio-economic backgrounds and aiming to support their progression to university and graduate-level jobs.
Building effective teams isn’t just about who gets in, it’s about who gets ahead and how. Bridge Group research highlights that socio-economic background can often have a stronger effect on progression and pay, compared with other diversity characteristics.
