We are delighted to announce the new Bridge Group Chief Executive
11 February 2025
The trustees are delighted that Jenny Baskerville will join the Bridge Group as its new CEO at the end of April 2025.
Jenny is a highly respected leader in social equality and inclusion and brings extensive experience in advancing change to realise social impact. She will join the Bridge Group from KPMG UK, where she was formerly Head of Social Mobility and has been Director and Head of Inclusion, Diversity and Equity (IDE) since 2018.
As Head of IDE she has led the firm’s IDE strategy, embedding accountability for inclusion across senior leadership and overseeing one of the most progressive approaches to socio-economic background (SEB) diversity and inclusion in the UK.
Under her leadership, KPMG became the first UK business to comprehensively measure and publish SEB workforce data, to publish SEB pay gaps and set a target for SEB representation in senior leadership. In her role she has advised major organisations on best practices – and played a key role in shaping engagement with policymakers and industry bodies.
Jenny is a Fellow Chartered Accountant and is currently Chair of the Living Wage Advisory Council, a Non-Executive Director of Progress Together, and a Board Member of the East London Business Alliance.
The Board warmly welcomes Jenny’s appointment. Chair of Trustees, Hephzibah Adeosun, commented:
“Our work has never been more important – Jenny’s leadership and vision will be invaluable as we shape together the future for the Bridge Group. Her proven track-record and expertise, along with her rigorous and thoughtful approach, mean she is a superb match for our charity. We are delighted.”
Jenny said “Too often in the UK, your starting point in life dictates your life chances, limiting potential and perpetuating inequality. This matters as a principle of fairness and for individual livelihoods, but it also hinders the productivity, innovation and economic growth of the UK.
“The leading social mobility programme that we have established at KPMG will thrive long into the future. Building on this success, it is now my absolute privilege to have been appointed as CEO of the Bridge Group – a charity with an exceptional reputation for combining robust research with practical, evidence-based recommendations. I am hugely excited about the opportunity to craft the next chapter for the Bridge Group alongside brilliant colleagues and Trustees.”
Co-founder and current CEO, Nik Miller, will step down at the end of April, after leading the charity for more than a decade. His research and advisory work on social equality will continue (including as a Fellow at the Bridge Group), alongside his role at More Partnership – where he advises organisations around the world on strategies to achieve social impact. He added, “As the Bridge Group enters this next exciting phase, Jenny’s experience and ambition will be invaluable as the charity grows its impact and reach”.
