The future of creative work: implementing recommendations for diversity and inclusion

Online roundtable, 3 March 2022, 10 am - 1 pm

This online roundtable brought together evidence and recommendations from a range of recent reports and the practical experience of organisations from the Creative and Cultural Industries (CCIs). The event started with a roundtable with Kate Danielson (Jerwood Arts), Dr Tamsyn Dent (King’s College London), Dr Dave O’Brien (University of Sheffield) and Dr Helen Wareham (Bridge Group). Attendees then broke into groups for discussion.

Prior to the event, the Bridge Group circulated a briefing with a shortlist of ten recommendations covering key aspects of working towards socio-economic diversity within individual arts organisations but are also relevant to improving diversity and inclusion across the sector. The list was compiled based on several reports on diversity and inclusion published over the last few years:

The attendees were asked to vote before the event on the recommendations which they found most relevant and important to discuss, and the roundtable focused on the most popular.

The summary of the event covers the key points raised, while this blog post addresses participants’ questions on using data to support diversity and inclusion.

The recording of the roundtable is available here.
