Pathways in law from schools outreach to partner: Evidence to advance socio-economic diversity and inclusion across the legal sector.

Drawing on evidence from recent Bridge Group (and wider) research, this dynamic online event shared key insights, recommendations and practical examples of change, to inform and inspire action. During the event, Stephanie Boyce, President of the Law Society, provided opening comments and senior experts across sectors contributed to a panel discussion. Evidence and action was then considered by attendees in smaller groups in four related areas:
Schools outreach and university admissions
Graduate attraction and hiring
Early career progression in the law
Progression to senior positions / partner.
Prior to the event, the Bridge Group circulated a summary of our research on the legal sector and related outreach, as well as a briefing summarising the impact of socio-economic background across education and careers in law, which is available here.
After the event, we produced a summary of participants’ contributions and key points.
